### **Bethesda Central Farm Market**
_7600 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814_
Open year-round on Sundays from 9am-1:30pm
This market is located in the parking lot of Bethesda Elementary School, and it is one of
the largest and most diverse farmers markets in the area. Dogs are allowed. Not only
are there many vendors, but also table seating, wine and brewery tastings, activities for
kids, and chef demonstrations. There is free parking in the school lot, at the adjacent
library, and in many garages around the area. The stand out booths include Farm
Market Bakery, with handmade sweet and savory items, Rita’s Crepes, a local
Bethesda favorite, cooking sweet and savory crepes, and Bun’d Up, selling handmade
Korean/Asian-influenced flavors of bao buns. For produce, head to Toigo Orchards and
find fresh fruits and vegetables.

### **Bethesda Farm Women’s Market**

Open year-round on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7 am-4pm, but on
Sundays, only the outdoor flea market is open
Opened in 1932 by a group of farmers’ wives, this market is by far the oldest, and is a
great place to find unique food, art, and even clothes. There are indoor stalls with
produce, dairy products, prepared foods, and more, plus food trucks outside. On
Sundays, the indoor market closes, and there is a flea market filled with crafts, jewelry,
antiques, art, and clothes. On days when the market is open, there is free on-site
parking and free weekend parking behind the market. Look for La Bohemia Bakery,
serving French desserts, Grill Express, authentic Indian cuisine at an inexpensive price,
and Chocolates and Beyond, homemade Belgian chocolates. For produce, Windy Hill
Farms sells it locally grown, along with jams and preserves.

### **Kensington Farmers Market**

Open year-round on Sundays from 9am-1pm
Here, you will find local and regional vendors selling everything from produce to
prepared foods. There is a summer concert series across the street at Howard Park
from 10am-11am in June through September. Stop by Stonyman Gourmet Farmer to
buy small batch handmade cheeses. Also consider Simple Pleasures Ice Cafe, where
you can try homemade ice cream and sorbet flavors, and Old Smokey Bar-B-Que,
serving organic, local meat smoked and slow cooked in a dutch oven. Finally, check out
Rabbit Hill Farm, a family-owned business selling produce, eggs, and honey.

Located at Pike and Rose, this market has over 40 vendors and features live music,
table seating, winery and brewery tastings, kids’ club activities, chef demonstrations,
and a special Tuesday Thanksgiving market. Plus, dogs are permitted. Free two hour
parking is available in the garages of Pike and Rose. Favorite vendors include Zeke’s
Coffee, a family owned coffee business which sells bagged coffee and drinks, DC Dills,
fresh pickles in many flavors, and Lobster Maine-ia, seafood straight from Maine. Twin
Spring Fruit Farm sells homegrown fruits and vegetables.

### **Central Farm Market at Westfield Montgomery**

Open May 5 - November 17 on Saturdays from 9am-1:30
Located at Westfield Montgomery, a large shopping mall, you can find local produce,
speciality foods, plants, and more. This market has music, table seating, winery and
brewery tastings, kids activities, and chef demonstrations through November 2018. In
addition, you can bring your dog. There is free parking on-site. Try Number One Sons,
selling fermented foods including kimchi, pickles, and sauerkraut, O Earth Creamery
and Bakehouse, gluten free baked goods that taste great, and Bushdogs, prepared
foods made from locally sourced Maryland seafood. Westmoreland produce offers
fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

goods and prepared foods at Praline Bakery. Discover Scenic View Orchards for local
fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

red line of the metro. At S&S Maple Camp, purchase maple syrup made in Maryland
and famously giant pancakes. In addition, go to Maracas Ice Pops for Mexican-flavored
popsicles made from local fruit, Call Your Mother for wood fired bagels with many
topping choices, and New Morning Farm, selling organic fruits, vegetables, and eggs.

A good spot for families and pets, this smaller neighborhood market sells prepared
foods and has several farm stands selling a selection of produce and meats. If you like
popsicles, try Pleasant Pops, which makes them locally. People's Bao serves Chinese
buns with meat or vegetable fillings, and Atwater’s Bread sells breads made daily.
Lastly, Earth Spring Farm offers organic produce and other products.
